PA CARLISLE — Carlisle Borough Council tabled a proposed $45,750 license plate reader agreement after residents voiced privacy and data security concerns. The council voted 6-0 to postpone the Flock Safety system with Mayor Shultz committing to research the product's community effects, after eight residents testified against the surveillance technology. Separately, Council voted 7-0 to reaffirm the Disaster Emergency Declaration and approved water and sewer infrastructure contracts totaling nearly $400,000 in response to 14 water main breaks from recent extreme cold and snow, including $297,200 for sewer engineering, $71,812 for pump replacement, and $28,800 for flow metering.
